hi welcome to trip tips/I am your host ** .On trip tips we will tell you everything need to know about different destinations all around China. I am the embassorder of shaanxi province which is northwest in China. And at the end of the year we will be holding a elections for the best city and best city ambassador.

So I will do my best to tell you all about shaanxi.

First let me tell you a little bit about shaanxi province. It's  located in the northwestern of very mountainous part of China. And it is not to be confuse neighbouring  shanxi province. Now the only difference between the two names is the tone shaanxi and shanxi. And of course Chinese characters so use of the names. But when spelling shaanxi and shanxi. They both be written identically . So the solution for that is write shaanxi with two "a"s. The one  we are going to talking about today is shaanxi with two "a"s. And could everybody’s favorite the  terra-cotta warriors. Which are located in the  provincial  capital  of the shaanxi province xi'an.

Now the name xi'an literary means western peace. Although Beijing is certainly the capital of China. Actually it wasn’t the capital until later during the Yun dynasty. And before xi'an was actually the capital for many many centuries. And also for a lot of more important dynasties such as Qing,Han,Sui and Tang. So consequently it is extremely rich in history. And it is also  home to lots and lots of historical sites. There is the Terra-Cotta Warriors ,the eighth wonder of the world. Also was checking out in xi'an are the Wild Goose Pagodas and which there is a big wild goose pagodas and a small wild goose pagodas.  There is also Mount Hua,the Stele Forest and many many more but don't worry because I will tell you all about these attractions once at a time. Ok now transportation to xi'an is extremely convenient. The best way to get there is by train. And train's to xi'an had from pretty much everywhere in China. And trip's from Beijing about 12 hours or so. So you can either take it in the morning and you will arrive at night or you can take it at night and you will arrive at morning the next day. Now because of the geographic location in the northwest of the China. The four seasons in xi'an are very distinct. The summer are extremely hot and extremely humid. And there just rain and there just..yeah you don't want to be there in the summer. And the winters are also extremely dry and extremely windy. And sometimes there storms and yeah winter is not a good idea neither. So the best time to visit xi'an is either in the spring or the fall especially April and October. But as always for traveling in the China. Try not to go during the holiday because you may not see anything more than people.

Now for most tourist for other parts of China. It seems that the Terra-Cotta Warriors are not necessary the most important attraction in xi'an. What equally or more important is the food in xi'an. Now xi'an has centuries of Islamic culture and there are plenty of great Islamic restaurant everywhere you go. But especial on and around Damaishijie. We will be having a special installment all about the cuisine in xi'an. But one dish that you absolutely must try is called yangroupaomo which means mutton soup and bread. Now basically this mutton soup and bread is um.. mutton br__f and you have this special kind of pieces that you break up in the pieces. And then you throw it in the soup before you eat it. It sound kind of weird but it is really good. And we have more on that during the shaanxi direcsy installment. Well that is all for today about xi'an. Coming out next on trip tips.
